Stayed with a great friend in Penrith who was kind enough to show me the “The Lakes”.
The first event was the drive to Ullswater and park at Glenridding and take the Ferry to Howtown. Then walk back to Glenridding. See images below. The first are the sequence on the Ferry and then those on the walk back. We were blessed with a fantastic day.
After lunch a leisurely drive through the Lakes to Castlerigg Stone Circle, near Keswick before driving bak to Penrith.
In my 67 years this is the first time in the Lakes and it’s an absolutely enchanting place.
