I decided the M5 should not be driven during the Winter, to protect the underside from salt. Consequently, I SORNED it on the 1st November for the next 3 or 4 months. We have owned the car for 6 months and added 300 miles to the total figure 3,200 miles for a 4 year old car.
I bought a CTEK charger specifically for a Lithium battery, which is now connected. Before, being parked for the next couple of months, we gave it a good wash and added a layer of protection. Yesterday, I ensured the brakes were fine after the wash and left it parked without selecting the Park Brake ON.
Two weeks ago, we ordered a car cover, which is top quality and branded BMW M Performance at a cost of £400 from Sopers, Lincoln.
We will waken the car in January and ensure all is well and then finally again in March.
